I’ve been going to Tahoe for the past 25 years. On our first year anniversary we purchased our first bear, “Norman “. To this day he is still looking handsome on my front landing. Through the years we’ve purchased 4 other bears and a birdhouse. They all have unique faces and look like they will just start talking to you. The ones we had shipped home to NJ all make it here safe and sound. The Bear’s Den does exceptional work!!

This is the coolest store ever. My mom had been looking for a carved bear for literally decades, and this is the place we finally found the right bear. There are not only bears, but also wolves, foxes, eagles and even a few rabbits and moose tucked away. 10/10 do recommend if you're looking for something awesome.

Such a cute place that carves its own bear souvenirs out of wood! Not much variety of other things but really cute if you want some signs or bear sculptures.

I was looking all over for a wooden welcome sign bear and these ones are bar far the best I could find. I live across the country from thier store and they were kind enough to listen to my wants and sent me pictures via text message of bears that I could pick from. They packed and shipped the bear the next day too. All around a wonderful experience with some friendly people and the cherry on top was the quality and workmanship of these wooden bears (they have all kinds of different animals). Pricing was great too. I would highly recommend this shop to anyone and if people ask me where I got my bear, I'll point them in the direction of The Bear's Den.

I doubt you'll find a better or bigger selection of wood carvings anywhere in the world. This place is incredible. The carvers work really hard on their craft.
There's a huge selection of all sizes. They're for sale year round, with the greatest numbers in the Summer months and also many for sale in the Winter at the ski rental shop.

Been a local since 1990 and stopped by during the height of the pandemic. Customer service was poor, I didn’t feel welcomed and neither did my parents. It’s simply not ok to judge customers at the door by assuming they won’t be able to purchase something or don’t have a right to browse. The selection is amazing and my family and I fell in love with the rocking chair on display. It’s too bad this town still needs to work on acknowledging all residents are an integral part of the Tahoe Basin community, and not just those with deep pockets.I did purchase one item, but got out of there as quickly as I could and haven’t been back.
