Need to take ID when opening an account. Was sent to another shop to pick something up (computer said it had stock) to be told they needed to wait 48hrs before selling. Also can’t call a store to ask.

Don’t use the bank transfers they offer when selling items.
My partner sold a ps4 to them and a colleague told him he would get the cash in 2 working days, if we did a bank transfer because they didn’t have enough change on them in the till.

1 week later we emailed customer support with our reference number because we still had not received the money, to be told the staff member who took the PS4 didn’t ask us to fill in an online form that requested our bank details, for us to receive the payment.

We have now received the money one week later from selling the ps4 to them after going through customer services.
But we won’t be using this store again.

The staff treat customers with contempt, completely ignoring people waiting to be served at the tills. They also somehow manage to keep a queue of several customers waiting for almost 10 mins, despite having 2 or 3 staff on the tills, who all moved at a snail’s pace. That’s a ridiculous amount of time to be waiting in a video game store.

I was sold a defective game from an online purchase and took it here to be returned. Was surprised at the arrogance of the guy who served me, who told me he was under no doubt the problem was my controller and not the game. He said they would take it away to be tested but that I was probably wasting my time and it would likely come back with no faults.

I had to come back right after work, right when he told me to collect it. I was there to simply pick up the game, yet I had to wait in the aforementioned queue for almost 10 mins, but the staff took no notice. I almost missed my train home due to this wait, so had to leave and contact CEX via email to chase it up. The store doesn’t even have a phone number!

My game was found to be faulty after all that and I got a full refund. Despite the assumptions of the cashier, who simply assumed it was my fault before he even checked anything. Can’t fault the remote customer service who dealt with my refund, it’s those in the store who are the problem.

Bams honestly sold me an Xbox a few days ago and somehow started making noises now it’s fans broke and went in shop to get it checked and got told they can’t do anything cause the warranty sticker was peeling off a a little bit honestly a joke £290 wasted on a broken Xbox?

The present set of grungy shop assistants make previous crews look pleasant which is not so easy. Maybe some disinfecting gel should be placed at the store entrance to protect customers from the zombie plague.

They sold me a Samsung S22 5G phone which keeps switching off more than 10 times in a day. When i went back with this issue they kept it for a week saying they tested it and couldn't find any issue. i said i will record a video with my other phone and they said it is not ''acceptable evidence''.. What's more astounding is the manager said the same thing in a different tone. The funny thing is they all hide behind the so called ''company policy''. Now i'm stuck with a £300 worth of paperweight which is absolutely useless to me. Not to mention that the staff are almost always rude and unpleasant. It is safe to say that the only time i will ever use them is to return their useless product back to them and never visit such an unprofessional place EVER again. If i could give a 0 star i would.

Worst staff ever and very rude to the customer. I will never waste my time again going to this store as there is better like in the Glasgow forge
